What was the highlight of Mercure Paris Gare De Lyon TGV
Great location; good hotel for sleepovers. Long stays will want a comfier bed.
We were able to check in early at 11am despite 3pm being the advisory time. The location was excellent, next to Gare de Lyon station. Breakfast opening times were long meaning you couldn’t miss it. Good terrace out front if you like people watching with decent bar and snacks menu. Housekeeping would change towels and make beds daily if you were staying more than 1 night. Breakfast boxes are available when ordered in advance if you will be leaving before breakfast is served.
Breakfast items were not replenished fast enough. Glasses for juices were warm/hot when put out - these should be cold. No salt and pepper on the table. Signage for the hotel when you are in the train station is none existent - the train station is huge with multiple entrances and some signage would be helpful. The outlook from the bedroom windows is only decent if you have the front facing rooms: the others look into high rise offices. Lifts are operated with room card to get to your room but not needed to return downstairs. Cleaners will remove room cards if left in the room, when you intend to leave them to keep the air con on. It is not clear if the bottled water in the fridge is complimentary or chargeable. No information available. Breakfast is on the mezzanine level between ground and 1st floor. Lots of business people use this level for online meetings, and you have to walk past them to get to the breakfast area. There are no large spoons available as part of the cutlery set and teaspoons are not ideal to eat cereal with. Condiments are not readily available with hot breakfasts.

hotel in convenient location with good breakfast!
Location at the Gare de Lyon was so convenient! I arrived late and really appreciated the easy check-in. Breakfast was good, and I totally approve of the penalty if you leave uneaten food.

Perfect for the purpose
Location awesome for connecting TGV
It was critical to be able to store the suitcases to the TGV departure on check out date, check in staff said no problem and morning staff said we could not unless we were members. In the end all was fine but it caused some unnecessary discomfort (we attended an Olympic event last day and the secure storage of bags in the day was the most important, we picked the hotel for this). I have stayed with the hotel before and never heard anything like this (in any hotel in the world)
